FAQ

We know that visiting a new church or church for the first time can be overwhelming and you may have heaps of questions before you even get to Sunday morning. We understand. That’s why we’ve put together a list of commonly asked questions

Where do I go?

We meet at 10am at Lakeside College opposite Aldi and the Cultural Centre in the heart of Pakenham at 2 Portobello Road. Entry is off Lakeside Boulevard. We are a stones throw from Frankie’s Cafe. If the gates to the carpark are shut, you can enter via the gate on the Aldi side of Lakeside College on Portobello Road.

What to expect?

We normally start by singing some songs and pray together. Then we hear a sermon from God’s Word. Our typical mode of preaching is to preach from a passage of Scripture as we work our way through books of the Bible. Then we sing a few more songs. Once a month on the first Sunday of the month we take communion together.

What to wear?

Like most families, our church family have members who are more formal and some who are more casual. We have leaders who wear three piece suits and others who wear shorts and thongs. Whether you’re wearing jeans or a dress, you’re likely to find other people dressed like you.

Are my kids welcome?

YES! Your children are welcome. Jesus loved children and so do we! We have a kids ministry called The Way Kids and that is for children between the ages of 4-12. Kids start the service with us and normally head out together with leaders who all have their working with children's check and have completed Safe Ministry training. The kids meet in a room with windows and all can seen directly from the main service room which has windows that look straight into the kids ministry area. For babies to 3 year olds there is an area with some toys for parents to sit during the service where parents can fully participate in the service whilst caring for their children. Noisy children WELCOME!

Do I have to give financially?

No. In fact, if you are visiting or not yet a Christian, we’d expect you not too!

How long does it go for?

Our service is normally wrapped up by about 11:15am.

Do I have to be a Christian to come?

Nope. We have people who come regularly who are not yet Christians and they are more than welcome.
